Spring 2019 Events in North County San Diego

March 20, 2019 by Danielle Negroni Leave a Comment

It’s no secret that there are always fun and interesting things to do in San Diego. And with warm weather just around the corner (if it ever stops raining that is), I put together a list of my top picks for everything you must do and see this spring in North County San Diego.

March 1st- May 12th: The Flower Fields at Carlsbad

The Flower Fields are back for another stunning season! The Flower Fields in Carlsbad are open during the height of blooms for approximately 6 to 8 weeks each year. This annual burst of color, which has become part of the area’s local heritage, is one of nature’s official ways of announcing the arrival of spring here in Southern California. Click here for more information.

April 3rd- 28th: Cirque du Soleil Volta

The beautiful acrobatic showcase of VOLTA is coming to Del Mar this spring! VOLTA is a story of transformation, of finding yourself, and unveiling your personal powers. Be sure to check out this beautiful Cirque de Soleil Show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds! Click here for more information.

April 13th: Heartbreak Ridge Run

The Heartbreak Ridge Run is a off-road race that is held in the northwestern foothills of Marine Corps Camp Pendleton. This race offers multiple distance choices with scenic views and challenging hills throughout. Click here for more information.

April 14th: San Diego Magazine’s Best of North County Party

If you’ve never been to a San Diego Magazine Party, make this the year you finally check that off your bucket list! The Best of North County Party will take place in the lush gardens of the Park Hyatt Aviara where guests can enjoy gourmet tastings and craft beer, cocktails, wine, and spirits. Spend an afternoon celebrating the best restaurants, breweries, and businesses in North County with your friends and neighbors! Click here for more information.

April 16th- May 5th: Del Mar National Horse Show

Every year more than 1,500 horses and riders come to Del Mar to compete for ribbons, prize money, and prestige. Comprised of a Western Week, a Dressage Week, and a Hunter/Jumper Week, head to Del Mar each Saturday night to enjoy performances from some of the country’s best horses and riders. Western Week is capped off by the annual Night of the Horse, Dressage Week by an evening of musical freestyles, and Hunter/Jumper Week by the $100,000 Grand Prix. Click here for more information.

April 27th: San Diego Kids Expo & Fair

If you’re always on the lookout for fun activities to keep your kids entertained, the Kids Expo & Fair is a great event to attend this spring! Described as “part businesses and non-profits on display, part fun fair, and part music and dance festival” this is one event you’ll want to clear the family schedule for. Click here for more information.

April 28th: The La Jolla Half Marathon & Shores 5K

The La Jolla Half Marathon is one of America’s most picturesque races. The course starts at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and follows a scenic coastal route to the summit of Torrey Pines State Park. There is also a Shores 5K that offers a shorter, but no less beautiful route! Click here for more information.

May 4th: Asian Cultural Festival of San Diego

The 10thAnnual Asian Culture Festival of San Diego is back on Saturday, May 4th! The festival features culture, traditional, and contemporary arts of Asian culture. Attend this free event with your family and you’ll be sure to leave with a great appreciation and love for Asian culture. Click here for more information.

May 5th: 2019 Carlsbad Village Faire

Carlsbad Village transforms into a local faire full of unique booths, eats, and local entertainment each spring and fall. This is a fun event the whole family can enjoy – even Fido! With over eight hundred vendors, pick up a gift for Mom for Mother’s Day or get a major head start on your holiday shopping. Click here for more information about this event.

May 18th & 19th: 2019 Vista Del Sol

The 40thAnnual Fiesta Del Sol is coming back to Solana Beach on May 18thand 19th. This free, 2-day art and music festival is a great way to kick off summer in Solana Beach! • "Danielle really spent the time educating us about the different neighborhoods in San Diego County so we could make an informed decision about where to purchase a home based upon our family's needs and not just a quick sale. She really worked above and beyond.”

    - Julianne S.

  • “I asked Danielle to help my 73 year old mother find a place to live. She worked tirelessly to find my mom the best solution for her situation. I was so impressed and relieved knowing that Danielle was looking out for her best interest. She is a rare find.”

    - Monica D.

  • “Because we are re-locating to San Diego, it was so helpful to learn from Danielle how to enroll our kids in school, where our girls could take dance lessons and how to sign up for the local soccer program. I would hire Danielle again in a second!”

    - Amy A.

  • “Danielle helped us sell our home in a very difficult market. We would recommend Danielle to anyone looking for an agent who will understand their needs, anxieties, and budget. You could very well come away with a new great friend as well.”

    - Trish C.
